I've got a few minutes to kill before heading out to the airport. I'm flying out for a long weekend to Portland, Oregon to see my sisters and celebrate my niece, Bella's, fifth birthday. This was kind of a last minute trip, but as I haven't missed any of her birthdays yet, I hated to break my streak. Bella just called me up. It sounded totally chaotic at my sister's house. I wonder if I should be frightened? Bella told me, "Mommy says that she's on her way to the crazy house. What's the crazy house?" Then my sister got on the phone to tell me that the two year old has been in time out multiple times this morning and they're only on breakfast. I'm sharing gratuitious niece photos of Gabbie wearing a sweater I knit several years ago for her older sister. It's nice to see that cardigan get "second sister" use.
I think it's supposed to rain the entire time that I'm there. My husband was teasing me, saying that it didn't matter because we weren't going to go outside except when we were on the way to Pizzacato, a favorite local pizza place. He might have a point. The bulk of my visit is spent hanging out with my sisters and gabbing. Off to catch a plane!
Travel safely, and have fun! I hope that the bout of time-outs has passed by the time you get there :)
